Cold Weather Amber Alert

Please see attached Adverse Weather warning from the Met Office. This is a Cold Weather Alert Level-3, in effect from 18:00hrs Wednesday 7th December – 09:00hrs Monday 12th December.
This may be extended as the cold conditions currently look to continue further into next week.

Highlights

  • Conditions are expected to turn rather cold by mid-week as air from the Arctic spreads south across the country.
  • Very cold nights are expected, with widespread frosts and potentially severe frosts.
  • Daytime temperatures persisting near or just above freezing, with overnight temperatures continuing to trend downwards.
  • Wintry showers in some coastal areas may push inland at times, bringing a risk of icy patches .

Christmas Carols in the Churchyard

Christmas Carols with the Shotover Singers at St Giles Church on Saturday 10th December at 7pm.

Warm drinks and refreshments available to purchase.

Free entry but donations to church funds welcome.

Dress for the weather and remember to bring a torch.

Littleworth Nature Reserve

A new entrance to the Littleworth Nature Reserve has been installed in the field next to Sandy Lane. The reserve is a good place to explore if you haven't been there before.
